An Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OB-GYN) is a medical doctor who specializes in women's health, specifically in the care of women during pregnancy and childbirth (obstetrics) and the treatment of the female reproductive system (gynecology). While a pure obstetrician focuses solely on pregnancy, and a pure gynecologist focuses on non-pregnancy related reproductive health, the majority of OB-GYNs practice both disciplines, providing comprehensive care from puberty through menopause and beyond.
